The Slave Ship Mentor

The Columbia Herald (Charleston), 30 May 1785: "GAMBIA NEGROES. To be sold on Tuesday the 7th June, on board the ship Mentor...."

The Charleston Evening Gazette, 13 July 1785: "RUN AWAY...SIX New Negroes of the Mandingo Country, lately purchased out of the Ship Mentor...."

According to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, the ship Mentor acquired 166 slaves in Gambia and arrived in Charleston, South Carolina with 152.

Sad verification. So, our ancestors were well aquatinted with the cultivation of rice and other industrial trades! Hmm, weren't it said that they were savages and unintelligent? Apparently, the masters were the ones on the learning level. History is interesting and very revealing.

I so agree.... Then they said that Africans were 3/5 human yet they had sex with them, created babies with them. Faulty logic. I hope they are burrning in hell for all eternity.
